A Trip to Kemmanagundi(red Soil Land in Karnataka)

Kemmanagundi (red Soil in Kannada Language) Around 270 Km from bangalore...

From the office finally it was decided that we will go for a trip to the land of red Soil / KemunGundi in Karnataka state.As the place is one night journey so there will not be much difficulty to reach there and also get fews days close to nature rather than those City culture of spending time in giant Malls or as a IT guy spend a hell lot of time in Facebook without any meaning.As usual the trip plannned like it will start on friday evening and end in Sunday evening..Acordding to the scheduled it was perfectly fitting for bunch of IT guy as we got luckly 2 days leave in a week.So here the date come 31st January the journey date and as every time happens before few hour  of journey I became very anxious and my mind start questioning me whether it will be worthy or not to travel that much and get something new to see or  it's the old one story.As I have spent my childhood in a small village very close to nature like my village surrounded with Jungle,river etc...So those things never excite me to go there like my city colleague  who are working with me.Anyways as usual in India  we never execute our plan according to our scheduled and as per the plan we should leave bangalore by 10:30PM and we somehow manage to leave by 12:30PM.I have brought all the necessary things and packed in a bag and the journey start.We have 2 category of people in the Bus one is around 5years of experience lazy guy like me and the other category is around 2years experience with full of energy.So while travelling people decide to play some game link antakshari/dumb chareds and other games.I Like to sleep whenever I got   time and this time also happend the smae thing.I was sleeping throught the travelling time and people are playing game.We stop in night around 4PM in some Highways Dhaba to have a cup of tea.One of my colleague is very hungry and in that dhaba we have only option to have a cup of tea nothing else.So someone brought a packet of good day biscuits and we feel like got somethign.Then again the journey start and we reached to the resorts Ozone Valley morning around 7AM.Somehow the resort is good having the facility like swimming pool and surrounded by nature.The people working in that resort were helpfull.we 3 colleague fresh quickly and come out of resorts and think why not have a walk as the breakfast scheduled around 9AM.So we start walking in a narrow road in the valley and on road side after few distance gap we found few resorts.On the road side we found lot of Coffea Robusta  with lot of drupe( small green coffee berry).I was thinking some other fruit but one of my colleague tell me that it should be Coffee plant.Finally walking on the way we reached to the dead end of the road and we found a government drupe production office.There we saw a lot of drupe were kept outside to dry on sunlight.

As usually we take few snapshot and return back to resorts.After having a heavy breakfast we start the journey as per our schedule to hebbal fall.We reach the entry point by bus and from there we need to treak for around 10KM.To go there we need the permission of Forest guard and one guide to reach the hebbal fall as the road goes with few dense forest area also.So intialy the guide tell us that it will be 6KM and by the time we reach there I feel we have walk around 10KM.So any way after walking half distance guide tell us that the Fall is behind another mountain we fell like what the hell is going on we tell him How can we believe that there is a even a Fall exist or not.So he told that lets go then.We few colleague walking quickly to reach as soon as possible.on the way we have lot of fun,meaningless chat just to divert the pain we are feeling while walkign on the way.We take lot of photo during the journey and enjoying throughout the walk.Finally we after walking around 7Km we got a glimpse of Hebbal Fall.

Again the guid ask us whether we want to go to near the Fall or is it ok that we see the fall from 3/4 KM distance and just happy that we see it.So we thought we can't go back after seeing such a beautiful fall from this much distance and again the dense jungle Journey start with a steep narrow road between the dense jungle.While walking through the road few colleague also slip and fall down and it's a scary road to walk.Anyhow we manage all this and  by the time we reach the foot of the fall one of my friend lost his Goggles and still he was happy after watching the beauty of the Fall.We enjoy a lot there and spent sometime and start back our journey.Again our gang start the walk and reach one by one milestone path quickly and thinking what the hell other people are doing.While coming back through the same path through that dense Jungle After covering half the distance we found I almost step on a Green Wine Snake.I capture the beautiful creature of earth on my camera.This creature is not poisonous as I got to know from my friends after coming to bangalore.

After covering half the distance we found one House and we were so thirsty that we ask the old guy for water.initially he tell that there is no water and again after some time he offer few jug of water and I was feeling like that I have never drank such a tasty water in my whole life.We thank him and again start the journey to cover one mountain.Somehow there also  we manage to reach and one of my colleague when reach the top of the mountain and scream the voice of success that we are near to our Bus.At that momment one Forest guard was there and he asked to my colleague who you are and whyy you are shouting.Then we told him that we came here for treaking.So after few seconds we saw Our bus also comming towards us.My body was aching like hell and I was so happy after seeing the bus that I can't descie in words.After talking to the guard we got  to know that one of our colleague is not able to walk the steep road and they called him,so he bring the bus till that distance.So some how we feel relax and finally we call the resort guy that we will be reaching to the resort by 6PM and please arrange some food as we haven't have lunch.So once we reach the resort we went to dinning hall and everyone is eating like they haven't got food from past few months.After having food I came to room and I don't know when  my eye were closed and when I got up it's around 10PM.So by that time camp fire was almost over and last few minutes I spent near the camp fire and then went for dinner.After having dinner again went to bed.In the morning as per the Scheduled we have to go to the Z-point.Right behind my Head on peak of the Mountain is called Z-Point.

I don't know some place is so hype.it's just a place with little bit high then normal valley.But some how we reach near to there and come back after having few photo shots.So we planned now after having breakfast in resort we will start out journey for Mullayanagiri(The Himalya of South india :) ).We start the journey and reach a heing after travelling around 2Hr in our Bus.So from one point No bus is allowed and still 2Km height needs to be cover,So few colleagues distance decide if there is no other option we will find then they will go by walk,but somehow we got  2Jeep for the 19vpeople and  went to there.After reaching there again we need to climb some 500 steps to reach the top from where you can get a bird-eye view of the beautiful valley and also there a Shive Mandir.

So we spent some time here and comeback the down and start our journey around 3pm towards Bangalore.While coming back we decide to had our Lunch @Chikmagalur city(Maharaja hotel).But few of us were vegetarian and there was no veg food in Hotel.So we decide to go another vegetarian hotel and we give the order.While waiting for our food other than me all were South indian.They all talk in Kannad/Telugu etc.. and I was feeling like what the hell going on.After 30min.s around waiting time the waiter serve the food to us and we had our dinner around 4PM.Again from Chikmagalur it was around 5 hour journey to reach bangalore.So I reach my room around 12pm and comes to the end of beautiful trip after such a long time.I feel it's a nice place to visit once.

By the way while writing  this blog I was listening the kamali song..I like the song... :)
